You have control over your data. This page explains your rights and how to exercise them. We respect your privacy and are committed to helping you manage your personal information.

Depending on where you live, you have various rights regarding your personal data:

1. Access Your Data
You have the right to know what personal data we collect and how we use it.
In-App Access:
- View your profile information in the Profile tab
- Access all your meal history and nutrition data
- Review your health goals and preferences
Request a Data Copy:
To receive a complete copy of all your data:
- Pro Users: Go to Profile → Privacy & Data → Export Data, then choose JSON or CSV format
- Free Users: Email privacy@lunomeal.com with subject "Data Access Request"
We will respond within 30 days with your complete data package.
2. Correct Your Data
If any of your personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, you can update it:
Self-Service Updates:
- Edit your profile information (name, age, height, weight) in the Profile tab
- Update health goals and dietary preferences at any time
- Modify or delete individual meal entries
- Change app preferences and notification settings

If you cannot update something directly in the app, contact support@lunomeal.com and we'll assist you.
3. Delete Your Data
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data.
Delete Individual Meals:
Swipe left on any meal entry and tap Delete, or open the meal and tap the trash icon.
Delete Your Entire Account:
- Open the Luno app
- Go to Profile → Account Settings
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
- Confirm deletion (this action is permanent)
⚠️ Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your meal data, photos, analytics, and subscription status will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
What Happens After Deletion:
- Your account is immediately deactivated
- All personal data is deleted within 30 days
- Meal photos are removed from our storage
- Your subscription is canceled (no refunds for unused time)
- Some data may be retained for legal compliance (e.g., payment records)
4. Export Your Data (Data Portability)
You can export your data in machine-readable formats to use with other services.
For Pro Users:
- Go to Profile → Privacy & Data → Export Data
- Choose your export format:
- JSON: Complete structured data, ideal for developers
- CSV: Spreadsheet format, easy to analyze in Excel
- PDF: Human-readable report with charts and summaries
- Your export will be generated and available for download
For Free Users:
Email privacy@lunomeal.com with subject "Data Export Request". We will provide a JSON export within 30 days.
What's Included:
- All meal entries with timestamps
- Nutrition data for each meal
- Profile information and health goals
- App preferences and settings
- Analytics summaries (daily, weekly, monthly)
5. Restrict or Object to Processing
Restrict Processing:
You can limit how we process your data in certain situations (e.g., while we verify accuracy of data you've disputed). Contact privacy@lunomeal.com to request processing restrictions.
Object to Processing:
You can object to certain types of data processing:
- Marketing Communications: Opt out via app settings or email unsubscribe links
- Analytics: Disable analytics tracking in App Preferences
- Push Notifications: Turn off notifications in iOS Settings or app preferences
6. Withdraw Consent
If we process your data based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time:
- HealthKit Integration: Revoke access in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Luno
- Camera/Microphone: Revoke permissions in iOS Settings → Luno
- Location: Disable location access in iOS Settings → Luno
- Notifications: Turn off in iOS Settings → Notifications → Luno
7. GDPR Rights (EU Residents)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
- Right to automated decision-making and profiling protections
- Right to be informed about data breaches affecting your data
To exercise your GDPR rights, email privacy@lunomeal.com with subject "GDPR Rights Request".
8. CCPA Rights (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Know: Request disclosure of personal information collected, used, and shared
- Delete: Request deletion of personal information
- Opt-Out: Opt out of sale of personal information (we don't sell your data)
- Non-Discrimination: We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights
To exercise your CCPA rights, email privacy@lunomeal.com with subject "CCPA Rights Request".
9. How to Submit a Request
To exercise any of the rights described above, you can:

Include "Data Rights Request" in the subject line and specify which right you want to exercise
📱 In-App
Profile → Privacy & Data
Access data export, deletion, and other privacy tools directly in the app
Verification Process:
To protect your privacy, we need to verify your identity before processing requests:
- Submit your request via email or in-app
- We'll send a verification email or code to your registered email
- Confirm your identity by clicking the link or entering the code
- We'll process your request within 30 days
10. Response Timeline
We aim to respond to all data rights requests promptly:
- Simple Requests: Within 7 business days
- Complex Requests: Within 30 days (GDPR/CCPA requirement)
- Extensions: If we need more time, we'll notify you and explain why
